Purpose

A mobilization technique used to correct an anteriorly rotated ilium.

Technique

Patient is positioned sidelying on the unaffected side so the affect side is facing up.

Clinician stands in front of the patient.

Clinician places the lower leg in hip and knee extension.

Clinician places the upper leg in hip and knee flexion then places the leg in his groin.

Clinician palpates the sacral sulcus with his cranial hand and continues to flex the hip with his caudal hand until he reaches the motion barrier.

Clinician then places the ulnar side of his caudal hand on the ischial tuberosity and his cranial hand on the ASIS of the upper leg.

Clinician takes up the slack and dorsally rotates the ilium.
