Purpose

A mobilization technique used to correct a posteriorly rotated ilium.

Technique

Patient is positioned in prone.

A pillow is placed under the patient’s abdominals to make sure the ASISs are not touching the plinth surface.

Clinician stands opposite the side being tested.

Clinician’s caudal hand stabilizes the sacrum on the side opposite the one that’s being mobilized (the side he is standing on).

Clinician’s cranial hand palpates the PSIS and ilium on the side being mobilized. Clinician places the ulnar side of his cranial hand on the PSIS and ilium.

Clinician next performs an anterior, caudal, and lateral glide with his cranial hand.
