Purpose

A mobilization technique used to increase knee mobility.

Technique

Patient is positioned supine.

Clinician flexes, externally rotates, and abducts the leg to be mobilized and places his hip into the patient’s hamstrings to stabilize the femur.

Clinician gets his feet in position by placing one foot forward and the other foot back facing toward the patient’s feet.

Clinician grabs the distal tibia just proximal to the malleoli with his forearm parallel to the patient’s tibia.

Clinician distracts the tibia from the femur by rotating his body.
