Unliateral Standing with Rotation Test

Purpose
This is a functional SI joint test to detect hip pathology.
Technique
Patient is positioned standing.
Clinician stands in front of the patient and holds patient’s hands.
Clinician asks patient to stand on one leg and passively rotates patient to both sides.
Clinician asks patient to stand on her other leg and repeats the procedure.
Positive
Production of pain in the hip
Interpretation
Positive test indicated hip pathology.
